Summer Lesson: Allison Snow Seven Days Garden for PS4 is a communication game developed for PlayStation VR. The player assumes the role of a teacher who provides summer lessons to an American exchange student. The game is the second entry in the Summer Lesson series. The first installment debuted in 2016. Both games were developed as technological demos to present the capabilities of PlayStation VR, an accessory announced in 2014. The games were developed by a development team from the Japanese company Bandai Namco. The title was directed by Katsuhiro Harada, the creator of the famous series Tekken.

Plot

In Summer Lesson: Allison Snow Seven Days Garden for PS4 the action is presented by using a first-person perspective. The player assumes the role of a teacher who spends summer with Allison Snow. She is an American student who is spending some time in Japan. The player is tasked with helping her learn the local language.

Mechanics

The game takes place on the porch of a traditional Japanese house. The gameplay is very simple and the interactions with the virtual world are limited only to a few gestures. Allison is asking questions to which the player can answering “yes” or “no” by moving his head. During some parts of the game the player can also choose from a few available answers by looking at the icons floating in the air.

The developers created a few DLC that add new costumes and additional scenarios to the game.

Technical aspects

Summer Lesson: Allison Snow Seven Days Garden for PS4 is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and offers high quality special effects and animations. Because the developers created only two locations, they filled them with large number of small details that add more realism to the game. The title requires the PlayStation VR set to work.
