Swamp People is an adaptation of the popular series of TV programmes broadcast by History. The game was produced by A&E Television Networks Mobile studio, specializing in productions addressed to smartphones and tablets.
Just like in the TV original, the characters of Swamp People are hunters who hunt alligators floating in the swamps of Louisiana. The player takes on the role of one of the participants of the programme and his task is to hunt as many dangerous reptiles as possible using various hunting techniques and firearms.
The game is aimed at casual market viewers, and thus the gameplay has little to do with realism. The basis of the game is hunting, during which the player maneuvers the boat, sets traps and shoots at the lured alligators. The competition takes place in 10 different locations.
Swamp People offers several gameplay options, including an eight-scenario campaign and a free hunting mode. In addition to participating in hunting, players can take care of the expansion of their camp, as well as buying and improving hunting equipment. The creators also took care of the possibility of individualizing the appearance of the character.
From the technical side Swamp People is based on solutions known from the mobile version. While preparing the PC port, the developers thoroughly modified the control system. However, the quality of the three-dimensional graphic design remains unchanged and clearly stands out from the standards of today's PC games.
