A remake of the dungeon crawler roguelike game from 2021. Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection offers a third person perspective and has us playing as Tama. The protagonist hopes to resurrect his beloved with the titular sword, but first we must go through dangerous dungeons.
Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection is a remake of a dungeon crawler action RPG with roguelike elements released in 2021, titled Sword of the Necromancer. The remake was developed by the authors of the original, namely the independent studio Grimorio of Games.
As was the case with the original, the main character of Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection is Tama. He's a warrior who protects his beloved - a priestess named Koko who is on her pilgrimage across the continent. When the girl dies, the protagonist decides to set off on a dangerous journey to defeat a powerful necromancer and obtain his titular sword. According to legend, the magical blade can allow him to resurrect his beloved. It's on us to make sure he succeeds.
In Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). While traversing the dark, procedurally generated dungeons, we primarily engage in combat with enemies, led by powerful bosses.
The clashes are dynamic, and during them we must be constantly moving and launching accurate attacks. We can eliminate enemies using a variety of combat skills and various types of weapons. Among the available weapons, the titular Sword of the Necromancer stands out, which allows Tama to resurrect defeated enemies to fight alongside him. As we progress, we develop our hero and gather better equipment.
Due to the change in perspective, compared to the original, the combat system has undergone a thorough overhaul. In addition, the developers focused on the issue of reviving enemies and prepared a set of tactical commands with which we can influence the behavior of our allies on the battlefield.
Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection can be played alone or in local co-op.
The three-dimensional graphics of Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection are maintained in a low poly style (individual elements consist of a small number of clearly visible polygons).

Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection delivers a more refined and emotionally charged version of its original story. While graphical inconsistencies hold it back from being a truly polished experience, the emotional depth and improved gameplay make it a worthy return to Tama and Koko’s tragic yet beautiful tale.
God is a Geek: 6 / 10 by Sean Smith
Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection had much promise with its heartfelt story, but it just doesn't quite hit the mark across the board.
