game release date for PC:
Sylvio 2 for PC is sequel to the FPP horror adventure game Sylvio released for PC Windows in 2015 and was nominated for e.g. the TIGA award for the most original game of the year, along with Dying Light and Bloodborne. Like its predecessor, the game was developed by indie studio Stroboskop founded by Niklas Swanberg.
In Sylvio 2, you once again play as Juliette Waters, whose job is recording the voices of the dead. The story follows the events of the first installment and takes place just a few days after the tragic fire of the forest around the Saginaw Amusement Park. Unlike the previous game, however, Sylvio 2 takes place entirely during the day.
The mechanics don't depart far from these established in the first installment of the series. The game again utilizes the first person's perspective and the gameplay focuses on exploring and solving puzzles, as well as occasional fights with the ghosts. The protagonist's equipment is more or less the same as in the previous game, although some gadgets are new. Instead of the old Steltron L-500 magnetic tape recorder, the game features a Steltron L-100, a 360-degree camera, which allows you to record not only the audio, but also the video of the ghosts. Since the recordings are essential for solving the in-game puzzles, you can browse them, slow them down of fast-forward them, as well as zoom in and scan them for any ghost presence.
From the technical point of view, Sylvio 2 for PC is similar to its predecessor, featuring relatively subdued, but very suggestive visuals and sounds. The protagonist is once again voiced by Swedish movie and theater star Maia Hansson Bergqvist.
