Team Fortress Classic, also known as Team Fortress 1.5 or TFC, is a tactical action game in which we observe the action from the perspective of the first person. Initially, the application existed as a modification of QuakeWorld, but thanks to its innovation and huge popularity, it was released as an official, free supplement to the game Half-Life.

In the production of Valve, the gameplay is only multi-player. In the available game modes players compete as teams (usually two in one match) consisting of different character classes. During a skirmish there can be up to 32 players on the same map.

Team Fortress Classic is based on four main competition modes, which in turn are subject to an infinite number of modifications. The level categories in the game are:

- Capture the Flag - the goal for both teams is to capture the map from the opponent and transfer it to their base before the opponent does the same,

- Territorial Control - players compete for taking over and defending selected points on the map,

- VIP - one of the players becomes VIP, while the others are divided into two groups: security guards and mercenaries, adequately protecting and trying to eliminate an almost defenseless VIP,

- Football - teams fight against each other trying to capture the ball on the map and place it in the opponent's base.

Starting the game we have nine classes of soldiers to choose from. Each group has at least one specific weapon and a specific set of features. Available classes are:

- The quickest movement,

- Sniper - attack from a distance,

- Soldier - better armour and weapons,

- Demomancer - bombing,

- Medicine - treatment of colleagues, weakening of enemies,

- pyro - arson with the help of a flame thrower,

- rushing - sneaking from behind,

- Engineer - construction of defence towers.
