In the first years of its activity, the French team of Artefacts Studio created diversified productions - from races, to arcade games, to adventures. This changed to some extent in 2020, with the release of The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos, after which games with a tactical bent began to lead the portfolio of the company. Among them is Terrinoth: Heroes of Descent, a dungeon crawler RPG based on the license of the board game released in Poland under the title Descent: Legends of the Dark.

Gameplay

In Terrinoth: Heroes of Descent, the action is viewed in an isometric view. After choosing a character from among the assorted adventurers, we head a team of up to four players to challenge the forces of evil. Each protagonist has his or her own story, preferred weaponry and fighting style. As we progress, we develop them, improving their skills and strengths, as well as collecting more powerful equipment and upgrading them in the Forge.

Based on the popular tabletop game Descent: Journeys in the Dark, Terrinoth: Heroes of Descent manages to capture the mechanical pacing of a physical session. It stands as a technically sound, faithful translation of its roots, but the final product is bogged down by a generic story, wooden voice acting, and flat characters.
