The Banner Saga for PC, AND and etc. is a turn-based RPG inspired by the Nordic mythology. This is a debut project by the independent Stoic studio set up by Arnie Jorgensen, Alex Thomas, and John Watson – the key trio in creating Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Plot

The plot revolves around a group of Vikings who are escaping from the looming doom. The action takes place in a fantasy world inspired by the Nordic mythology and the scenarios are written in a road story style. The developers made use of their previous experience and created a game that forces the player to make difficult decisions. Dialogues are kept in a cinematic convention characteristic for Bioware productions.

Destructoid: 8 / 10 by Kyle MacGregor

The Banner Saga is a dark and onerous experience, but it's one that draws you in.  I'll be waiting with bated breath to see which way this winding path darts next. Something tells me we're not out of the woods just yet.

Game Revolution: 3 / 5 by Ryan Bates

The battle system controls easily and is fairly easy to learn; those who see this game basically like chess will enjoy it. Those looking for a new RPG to get into, however, should look elsewhere.
