The new version was developed by the creators of the original game – Free Lives studio – to commemorate the premiere of the action movie The Expendables 3. The Expendabros for PC is an 2D action platformer shooter which is a spin-off of the popular independent game Broforce created by the Free Lives studio. The game was developed in cooperation with the producers of The Expendables 3 movie. As part of the cooperation, the developer created and released the game for free on Steam.

The game is an adaption of the movie and tells about adventures of a group of mercenaries (Bro Caesar, Bro Christmas, Broney Ross, Trent Broser, Bronar Jenson, Broc and Toll Broad) who must face a dangerous arms dealer, Condrad Stonebanks, one of the founders of the Expendables.

Mechanics

The gameplay of The Expendabros for PC is same as in Broforce. The players travel through various levels (there are ten of them in total) on which they fight with uncountable amounts of opponents. Each character has unique abilities, weapons and special attacks, but the game always focuses on destroying everything that moves with various weapons. It is possible to play the game in singleplayer mode and in cooperation mode (local and online) for up to four players.

The graphics of The Expendabros for PC has the same style as Broforce. It means that the game looks similarly to classic, two-dimensional games with large pixels.
