The Last Starship is a strategy game in which we design a spaceship and take command of its crew. It was developed by Introversion Software - an indie development team, whose portfolio includes such projects as Prison Architect, Darwinia, Defcon and Uplink.

Game mechanics

In The Last Starship we observe the action from a top-down perspective. The game allows us to design our own spaceship from scratch. We start the process by choosing the hull, and then we install the engines, life support systems, various sensors and finally the weapons on our own. Then there's nothing left for us but to start the procedurally generated missions. The tasks before us are varied; we prepare operations to extract resources from asteroids, rescue survivors of the ship that has crashed, and even take part in battles with galactic pirates.
