Tiny Bull Studios is an independent Italian development studio whose initial works were characterized by a gloomy style. The Lonesome Guild described here stands out from their previous projects, as it is an action RPG with a colorful, cartoonish graphic style. The game was published by the Don’t Nod company.

Gameplay

In The Lonesome Guild events are viewed from a bird's-eye perspective.

Gathering a team

During the game we assemble a team of fantasy creatures, exploring the world of Etere in their skins. At any given time, we can control only one hero, but the game allows us to switch between characters at any moment.

Adventures in Etere

While exploring Etere, we meet its inhabitants and learn their stories, as well as complete quests. Combat plays an important role here. The battles are dynamic, requiring us to stay in constant motion, skillfully dodging attacks and making use of the individual skills and strengths of our companions. Additionally, the gameplay is diversified by solving puzzles.

The power of friendship

The core of the adventure is friendship, with bonds that tighten around the protagonists over time. We build their mutual relationships by completing quests related to them and having conversations by the campfire. As a result, the power of individual team members grows over time, and their range of abilities expands.

Worth Playing: 8 / 10 by Cody Medellin

As stated in the beginning, The Lonesome Guild is a solid adventure game all around. The RPG elements are deep enough to give the action some teeth, while the action is easy to pick up but is involved enough that the game isn't a button-masher. The adventure is entertaining, while the story gives the game some unexpected heart. The Lonesome Guild will make adventure fans happy.

With a unique possession-based combat system, a diverse cast of lovable characters, and a strong emotional core focused on friendship and loneliness, this adventure stands out as a cozy alternative to the typical autumn horror lineup. Despite a few mechanical hiccups and repetitive side quests, its thoughtful storytelling and character dynamics make it a memorable experience for RPG fans.
