Travellers Rest is a game from the verge of RPGs, life simulation and economic strategies. The game was developed by an independent developer using the pseudonym Louqou and published by Metaboli Publishing.

Plot

Travellers Rest takes us to fantasy land. In the course of the game, we play the role of a hero, who was involved in running the inn. Although the beginning of its activity is very modest, over time the inn is starting to develop, not only being an ever more lucrative business, but also being increasingly besieged by tired wanderers.

Mechanics

In Travellers Rest the action is shown from the top-down view. During the game, all the things related to running the tavern rest on our shoulders. So we not only prepare meals and drinks for visitors and count the money earned in this way, but also furnish other rooms (after all, customers need to have both food and sleeping facilities). In addition, we take responsibility for the cultivation of the land, as this is how we obtain the ingredients needed for the preparation of increasingly sophisticated dishes, as well as the brewing of various types of beer (from delicate light lagers to dark ones), distillation of the alcohol and wine fermentation. Besides, there is nothing to prevent us from outsourcing various tasks to adventurers visiting us. Our world is not limited to taverns; in the area you will find, among other things, a small village where we can meet our regular customers, as well as open-air areas, where there are many unique ingredients.

As we progress, we gain experience and receive points to develop the six branches of the skill tree; our innkeeper can learn not only in such disciplines as building, cooking, brewing and social relations, but also in nature and magic. Over time, our inn's reputation is also growing, thanks to which more and more prominent guests (who, however, have their own demands) start visiting it.
