The Wreck is a narrative adventure game, in which we follow the story of a woman named Junon. Struggling with many problems, the protagonist tries to cope with the demons of the past and fix her professional and personal life in one day.
The Wreck is a narrative adventure game dealing with difficult life themes. It was developed by The Pixel Hunt, an independent studio whose portfolio includes the unique Bury Me, My Love.
The protagonist of The Wreck is Junon, a 36-year-old screenwriter whose professional career and personal life hang in the balance. When her mother is hospitalized in a critical condition, the protagonist has to survive the most important day of her life, trying to deal with her past and put all her affairs in order.
The gameplay in The Wreck consists mainly of following the storyline. As we watch flashbacks and gradually learn more about Junon's past and the secrets she's been hiding, we get to know and better understand the problems she's facing. As we gain information, we unlock new dialogue that we can use in numerous conversations to repair Junon's damaged relationships with others. Our actions are important because they determine whether the woman will find peace and hope for a better tomorrow.
Despite the serious subject matter of The Wreck, the graphic design of this production is kept in a colorful, cartoonish style.

Game Ratings for The Wreck Video Game.
XboxEra: 8 / 10
One of the most deeply emotional gaming experiences out there and boasts an art style that works perfectly for a visual novel. As well as serving up a unique game mechanic this is an inexpensive title that could easily go unnoticed in this world of AAA behemoths, but hopefully, it will get the attention that it rightly deserves.
WellPlayed: 8.5 / 10 by James Wood
A smart, compelling, and deeply warm examination of memory and identity, The Wreck gives players the tools to turn tragedy into catharsis.
Thumb Culture: 5 / 5
Its approach and delivery of its storytelling feel fresh and unique. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my all time favourite movies and this is the video game equivalent of that Charlie Kaufman masterpiece.
