Designed by outstanding strategy game specialists, Bullfrog Productions studio (authors of Dungeon Keeper and Populous), Theme Park World is the third installment of the Theme series and a direct continuation of Theme Park from 1994. The game brings a number of novelties and challenges for the fans of the genre.

Mechanics

Theme Park World is an economic strategy in which the main objective is to design the next generation of theme parks from scratch to generate huge revenues and attract thousands of tourists. Achieving this goal requires a lot of work and involves different tasks. Starting with the proper management of available budget and ticket revenues, through the planning of individual stands and attractions within the available area, to taking care of staff and customer satisfaction, and research into new forms of entertainment. Production offers a wide range of options for influencing the operation of the facility, even allowing players to decide on the level of prices in open stores.

The creators have prepared four different styles of amusement parks, which offer different types of attractions for tourists - prehistoric, fantasy, halloween, and space. In order to unlock all of them, players must not only develop their parks well, but also receive golden tickets for particular achievements. These include gaining several hundred customers in a given period or earning the indicated amount up to a given month.

The production uses a specially designed graphics engine and allows players to independently visit the managed facility as one of the tourists. The camera then presents the action from the first person perspective. In this mode, players can take part in several mini-games, as well as check out the open roller coasters and Ferris whels. The lifespan of Theme Park World is further enhanced by the option to share one's parks with other game fans via the internet.

Technical aspects

Theme Park World is a three-dimensional strategy in which the action is presented from the top-down perspective. The title is distinguished by its cartoon-like style and high dose of humour. Also appealing is the soundtrack composed by James Hannigan, the author of music featured in FIFA 98, Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, and Dead Space 3.
