Mechanics

In Timelie, the action is shown in isometric view. During the game, we control both the girl and her animal friend, and show them where they should go or which object they should interact with. We can switch between heroes at any time, allowing for close coordination of their actions. By traversing locations, the heroes solve ingenious puzzles (usually involving finding a passage to the next level) while trying not to let their opponents see them or try not to fall into one of the traps. The locations themselves are a kind of big puzzles, because all our actions must be properly timed.

This game stands out thanks to the Timeline mechanics, which gives us the possibility of time manipulation. When you play, like in a video player, you can see a timeline, with which you can pause the action or rewind it forward or backward. This allows us not only to correct our mistakes, but also to check what will happen in the near future (a few seconds away at most) and to plan next actions.

Technical aspects

The graphic design of Timelie has been maintained in cartoon style, although thanks to the predominance of cool colours and disturbing styling the game is quite gloomy. The impression of being in a bad futuristic dream is intensified by music.
