game release date for Switch:
Tokyo is a remake of an action platform game, which in 1989 hit Amiga computers, and over time was converted to other devices (headed by Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Mega Drive consoles). This title, which was under the care of the original creators - Philippe Dessoly and Pierre Adane - was released on the Switch platform by Microids.
Tokyo's main character is the title warrior who enjoyed life in the jungle with his beloved Miho. However, the woman fell victim to the ominous Doctor Vookimedlo, who, with the help of the demon Bashtar, took her to his golden palace and turned the protagonist into a monkey. However, Heros did not give up and pursued his antagonist, hoping to save his choice and regain his former character.
In the action released on the Switch Toki platform, the action was shown on the side. The gameplay does not differ significantly from the genre pattern; the production consists of a series of levels, which we pass through, jumping over platforms, avoiding traps and fighting with encountered enemies. Tokyo, as a monkey, cannot use weapons, but he can spit at his adversaries and thus eliminate them; in addition to the standard opponents, the bosses who guard the next stages are waiting to be defeated.
It is worth noting that along the way the protagonist collects power-ups that increase his capabilities. For example, the rabbit's leg increases his dexterity (allowing him to make higher jumps), keys unlock secret locations, while the helmet protects him from attacks of enemies.
For the purpose of this remake of Toki, the authors created a completely new graphic design, which was maintained in a cartoon style evoking associations with such titles as Rayman Legends or Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap. The sound layer has also been refreshed.
