Top Eleven Be a Football Manager

Top Eleven, released on AND, WWW and iOS, is a browser-based football manager, created mainly for users of social networking sites and mobile devices. The game was created by the Nordeus Interactive studio in Serbia, founded at the beginning of 2010 by three former Microsoft employees. Taking as an example such award-winning series as Premier Manager or Football Manager, the authors managed to create a game that was honoured with many awards and outclassed the competition, boasting a dizzying number of several million active players in the period of greatest popularity.

Mechanics

After starting the game, we choose a name for our team, the emblem and club colors. Then, we are randomly assigned to one of the equivalent leagues, consisting of 14 teams with similar parameters. Each season consists of a two-day preparation period and 26 match days during which we participate in league and cup competitions. At the end of the season, the top 7 teams will be promoted to the higher league, where the level of their rivals increases. In addition, if we take a place in the first four, we will also participate in the Champions League games organized the next season.

As a manager, our main task is to determine the team and tactics of subsequent meetings. We also need to take care of making transfers that constantly strengthen our team and practices that have a direct impact on the development of players' skills. The financial field is also very important. We raise funds through sponsorship agreements and transmission rights, but also from tickets, transfers, and investments in stadium infrastructure. Money allocated for stadium expansion, parking lots and service points, as well as the medical and training base will pay off not only with greater revenues to the club's cash register but also with the growing disposition of the team.

What distinguishes Top Eleven from the classic football managers is the fact that no matter how much time we devote to the game, the team we lead will still play their matches according to a specific schedule, which can only be influenced to a small extent through microtransactions. If we don't act, the necessary decisions will be taken for us by AI, although, as it's not difficult to guess, they won't always make the right decisions. So the relationship is very simple - the more attention we pay to the team, the better results we will achieve.

Technical aspects

The first version of the game appeared on the Internet in May 2010 and since then it has been systematically developed and enriched with new options. The versions for mobile devices created a year later introduced the possibility of a cross-platform play. Top Eleven can be played without downloading any files, directly from the developer's website or, more advantageously, via one of the social networking sites, e.g. Facebook. The social options in the game are quite extensive and their use makes gameplay much easier. Friends watching our matches are a valuable bonus, which can tip the scales of victory to our side more than once. In difficult moments, gifts in the form of health packages, morale and resting can also prove invaluable. They allow us to restore our players to their physical and mental condition much faster.
