Release Date: October 23, 2025
The sequel to an acclaimed first-person survival horror adventure game. Like its predecessor, it was developed by a Chilean studio Dual Effect.
Tormented Souls 2 is a sequel to a first-person survival horror adventure game, which came out in 2021 on the PC, PS5 and XSX/S, and in 2022 on the PS4, XOne and Switch. Like the first game, it was developed by the Chilean studio Dual Effect. It was published by pQube.
The protagonist of Tormented Souls 2 is Caroline Walker, a returning character from the first game. Her sister, Anna, for unknown reasons, has black eyes, coughs up blood and frequently blacks out. Conventional treatment can't help her, so Caroline turns to supernatural means instead.
She ends up in a South American town of Puerto Miller, founded centuries ago by the Ismuit tribe - a small, secluded religious group. Caroline soon discovers the horrors lurking in the town she must face to save her sister.
Gameplay-wise, Tormented Souls 2 doesn't differ much from the first game. Caroline wields self-made, makeshift weapons against the monsters of Puerto Miller. Outside of combat, she must solve puzzles, usually requiring her to find the correct item to use in the right place. By progressing, she learns information she came to South America for.
Tormented Souls 2 features a third-person singleplayer story campaign.

The puzzles are designed to resist brute-forcing, and hitting a wall is an intentional part of the experience. Dual Effect clearly did their homework, showcasing a deep understanding of classic survival horror. Their confidence in crafting intricate puzzles and captivating aesthetics makes them a worthy successor to the genre’s iconic classics.
Life is Xbox: 85 / 100
Tormented Souls 2 does a great job at setting itself apart from the first entry in the series by refining much of what made the first game difficult and frustrating. Tormented Souls 2 improves on the combat in almost every single way by offering a wider variety of weapons, much larger environments to explore, great animations, and an increased fear factor.
NoobFeed: 89 / 100 by Nusrat Choity
Tormented Souls 2 doesn't follow the latest fads. It doesn't want to be a horror movie or a "streamer jump-scare" machine. It's a love letter to a time long forgotten. The game respects you enough to let you try, fail, and finally win.
