Train Valley World is a colorful, kid-friendly economic strategy game with puzzle elements. It was developed by an indie studio Flazm and is the new installment in the warmly received Train Valley series. It was published by tinyBuild, also responsible for publishing such games as SAND and Critter Cove.

Plot

The game doesn't have a narrative per say, although it's set during the industrial revolution. We play as a railway manager expanding the infrastructure. We'll play through 25 stages, each inspired by an actual early 20th century city.

Mechanics

Just like in the previous installments, the gameplay revolves around expanding and managing a railway network. The game is divided into 25 stages, featuring different types of locomotives. We must craft an increasingly efficient web of railways, which our trains will use to transport cargo to specific places on the map. While producing goods, we must keep in mind we have limited resources. We must manage them skillfully while keeping our network efficient.

Game modes

The game supports singleplayer and co-op for up to four players. Multiplayer can be cooperative or competitive, all players being located on the same map.

Technical aspects

Train Valley World features appealing, colorful, stylized visuals. The gameplay is displayed from the top-down perspective.

Just like in the previous installments, the in-game level editor lets us create our own unique maps and share them with other players through the Steam Workshop.
