TransRoad: USA Description
TransRoad: USA for PC is an economic simulator enabling us to assume control over an American trucking company. The game, a spiritual successor to TransOcean series, was developed by Hamburg team of Deck 13, a studio known from a number of well-received titles, including The Surge, Blood Knights, or Venetica.
Mechanics
TransRoad: USA focuses on managing and developing a trucking company specializing in road transport of various goods. The palyers recieve a three-dimensional map of the United States with a task of creating a company based in one of thirty-seven starting locations. The session begins with the choice of the first truck, trailer and the employment of a basic crew. Our task is to choose assignments that net the most income and create viable routes that will enable us to complete the delivery.
Completing assignments and delivering them on time increases our reputation, which leads to further progress. A strong market position enables us to buy a license to handle fragile or hazardous materials. Our company can choose from over a hundred trucks, each described by a number of statistics, and seven different types of trailers. The economy of the fictional world isn’t fixed, and can be subject to brief crises or multiyear recession in the different industrial branches that will influence our income and further development prospects, especially since our company has to face numerous AI-controlled competitors.
Game Modes
TransRoad: USA offers a number of game modes, including a singleplayer campaign, a sandbox mode, and a single mission mode.
Technical Aspects
The game employs a three-dimensional engine used in Deck 13’s previous titles. The palyers recieve a USA map seen from an isometric view offering a few zoom levels that can be switched at will. A full zoom enables us to see world details and individual vehicles. Aside from buildings and factories, the authors have introduced a number of landmarks, such as the sculptures on Mount Rushmore.
