Twinsen's Little Big Adventure Remastered PC

Twinsen's Little Big Adventure Remastered is a remastered version of the iconic action adventure game from 1994, Little Big Adventure (known as Relentless: Twinsen's Adventure in North America, Asia and Oceania). It was developed by an independent studio 2.21.

Plot

Twinsen's Little Big Adventure Remastered is set on the planet of Twinsun, orbiting around two stars at the edge of the galaxy. Its inhabitants' idyllic existence changed drastically due to the evil Dr. FunFrock, who created an obedient clone army and forcefully relocated all of the planet's people to its southern hemisphere.

The game's main protagonist - a Quetch named Twinsen - starts his adventure imprisoned on Citadel Island, tormented by mysterious dreams showcasing the apocalypse. He manages to escape, but is soon followed by Dr. FunFrock's soldiers who abduct his wife. Twinsen thus pursues them, soon learning his dreams aren't just mere nightmares but telepathic messages sent by Sendell; a divine being watching over Twinsun's people, which the protagonist's family has been helping her with for generations.

Being her chosen one, Twinsen must fulfill the prophecy, defeat FunFrock and save his beloved. To accomplish this, the Quetch must set out on a long, dangerous journey and join forces with the local resistance.

Mechanics

The gameplay of Twinsen’s Little Big Adventure Remastered is shown from an isometric perspective. Twinsen can freely switch between four different behaviour modes which alter his abilities and available interactions. Normal mode has him calmly walking, Sporty mode lets him run and jump, Aggressive mode lets him fight enemies while Discreet mode enables stealth. His moveset in the remaster has been also expanded with dodging and instant weapon switching.

The adventure takes place on Twinsun's many islands. Progressing through the game unlocks access to more locations, though we can return to previously visited areas whenever we want to. The player can talk to NPCs, complete quests, solve puzzles to progress the story and face arcade challenges. Enemies can be dispatched with Twinsen's fists or a magic orb that strikes them with energy beams. Occasionally he must also sneak past enemies or, in extreme cases, flee for his life.

Technical aspects

Twinsen's Little Big Adventure Remastered received a thorough audiovisual overhaul to adapt the game to modern standards; it makes use of an appealing, colorful, cartoonish artstyle. The controls and camera have also been improved.
