Ultimate General: Gettysburg is a strategy game that reconstructs the biggest battle of the American Civil War, the Battle of Gettysburg. It was designed by Nick Thomadis, the creator of DarthMod for the Total War series, and is the debut production of the independent Game-Labs studio.

The players get to assume the role of a Union or a Confederate general. The battle itself is divided into a series of scenarios in which we will try to either change the actual events or recreate them. The game does not lack for missions that are pure fantasy, either. All of our decisions influence the later clashes, so if we lose a lot of soldiers in combat, the remaining battles will be harder to win.

Ultimate General: Gettysburg puts an emphasis on realism and tactical depth. Combat capability of every unit is based on the historical records. Using the terrain to our advantage and applying an adequate formation is also key to wining. Every solider has its own AI module so even if we leave him alone he will not suddenly become defenseless. At the same time, our subordinates are not killing machines, therefore their behavior is based on their current morale. Despite the extensive combat mechanics, the game offers a user-friendly interface that allows us to issue orders to hundreds of units in a flash.
