In October 2022, Paradox Interactive released a grand historical strategy titled Victoria 3. Over the following years, the Paradox Development Studio behind its development proceeded to develop it, creating smaller add-ons (Immersion Packs) and large expansions (Expansions). Among the latter is Victoria 3: The Great Wave, described here.
The biggest novelty introduced in Victoria 3: The Great Wave is a wizard that allows you to design unique ships from scratch. With its help you can create a fleet matching your ambitions and needs, which can include both deep-sea vessels and coast guard vessels.
Among them, prestigious flagships are leading the way. An important role is also played by gunboats enabling previously inaccessible diplomatic activities. At the same time, the expansion does not force you to keep your creations to yourself, allowing you to profit from their sale.
New narrative content, meanwhile, includes the story of Japan from the late Edo period. The reign of the samurai of the Tokugawa family arouses increasing opposition in society, and the domestic and international situation changes like a kaleidoscope. Leading the Land of the Cherry Blossom, we can adapt to the conditions or, on the contrary, through reforms spr? try to dictate our own rules and expand our sphere of influence (using the fleet, of course).
To top it all off, there are new historical characters, as well as previously unavailable character clothing items, an architectural style unique to Japan, an interface sk?rk and a map.
Victoria 3: The Great Wave is a non-self-contained add-on, so it requires the basic version of the Victoria 3 game.
