War on the Sea is a mix of simulator and real time strategy (RTS), in which we command ship's squadrons. This is another work of the independent team Killerfish Games, which previously gained recognition among the fans of the genre thanks to Cold Waters and Atlantic Fleet.

The action of the game was set during the World War II. In the game we return to the Pacific, known for its Pacific Fleet, taking part in the battle for Solomon Islands by American and Japanese fleets.

Like previous games by Killerfish Games, War on the Sea combines elements of strategy with a simulator. During the game we command a squadron of American or Japanese ships. The game allows you to select more than 50 ship classes, over which you can take direct control like in simulators. The developers also made it possible to direct planes sent from aircraft carriers. During the battles, we must be careful so that a leak or fire does not lead to the elimination of our unit in time.

Game modes

The main game mode in War on the Sea is a dynamic role-playing campaign, during which we perform various tasks. Some of the missions is based on historical events, allowing for the reconstruction of real battles from the Pacific War. But we won't find any multiplayer mode here.

Technical aspects

Killerfish Games studio has once again taken advantage of the three-dimensional visuals, faithfully reproducing all the units present in War on the Sea. The realism of the game is ensured by a system of reliable physics, and the game engine takes care of both the proper movement of ships (although not at the level of simulators) and the shells fired. The production also supports mods.
