A turn-based strategy game, in which players take part in mech battles. The fights take place on maps covered with a network of hexagons, and apart from choosing an effective tactic, success is ensured by skillfully juggling the combat abilities of individual units. In addition to the story campaign, Warborn offers a multiplayer mode based on PvP competition.
Warborn is a turn-based strategy that takes us into a futuristic world of manga and anime, overwhelmed by the war on a cosmic scale. The production was developed by an independent British studio Raredrop Games.
The action in Warborn is shown in an isometric view. During the game, we play as one of the four commanders and take control over the mech squads. The clashes take place in a turn-based system, on maps covered with hexagonal grids.
Our chances of success are determined by the tactics (which should primarily take into account the topography of the terrain), as well as how we use the combat capabilities of individual units (playing a specific role on the battlefield). Each commander has special skills. In addition, there are strategically important structures on the boards - capturing them provides us with access to resources allowing us to summon additional forces from the orbit.
Warborn offers single-player campaign, as well as multiplayer battles with the other player.
The three-dimensional graphics of Warborn are appealing due to its colours and cartoon style.

Just Push Start: 3 / 5 by Mark Fajardo
While Warborn is not technically a bad game, it's fairly unremarkable. The story is bland, combat is more tactics than anything else and there isn't the charm that made similar franchises work. I don't have a Laharl to drive the experience forward or Domon Kasshu to deliver a monologue that results in a powerful blast, it's just a very technical tactical RPG that has solid tactics and little more. For some, that is probably enough but there are better options out there.
Noisy Pixel: 6 / 10 by Azario Lopez
Warborn has a great foundation of SRPG mechanics and beautiful animations. However, I never once felt connected or concerned about my units or challenged after the first few minutes of a match. Each campaign plays out relatively the same, and after hours of gameplay, you’ll feel like you are merely playing the same mission over and over.
TheSixthAxis: 7 / 10 by Adrian Burrows
Warborn is a solid and dependable Advance Wars-alike. There's nothing wrong with being an unspectacular offering, but with a few additions, alterations and improvements, Warborn could have been absolutely essential for Advance Wars fans. It's so close to being awesome, but we'll just have to settle for pretty good instead.
