We are talking about a production distributed in a free-to-play model with microtransactions, which is a cross between MMORPG, strategy and MOBA genres. We enter a science fiction universe and play as so-called Driftmasters, fighting for world domination with our colleagues.
In Warborne Above Ashes we watch the action from a bird's eye view. We end up on a vast map, and the pillar of the game is fighting battles with opponents. We can encounter both enemies controlled by artificial intelligence and other players. During in clashes with the latter, territory is at stake.
Battles based on PvP principles vary in scale.The game allows for both intimate one-on-one or few-on-few skirmishes, as well as gigantic battles, in which from several dozen to even 200 (100 vs 100) players participate.
Even though they can start at any moment of the game, their intensity increases when the game enters the so-called war mode. The hours of this transition are determined independently by the participants of the game through voting. War mode is where players can take over other areas or have to defend their own territories.
Warborne Above Ashes provides us with a variety of Driftmasters. Although the developers decided on a classless system, the characters were differentiated in terms of fighting style and preferred weaponry, which predisposes them to perform certain functions on the battlefield.
Additionally, we get our hands on vehicles, behemoths (which we can mount), as well as weapons and gadgets, with which we equip our characters. The punishment for suffering defeat on the battlefield is the loss of a single piece of equipment.
Warborne Above Ashes can only be played in multiplayer mode over the Internet. The game allows us to become lone wolves or to play together with other people, hoping to achieve our goals. We can also create guilds or join existing ones.
