WILL: Follow The Light is a story-driven exploratory adventure game with a first-person perspective. This story of a lighthouse keeper from the north was produced by the independent TomorrowHead Studio.

Gameplay

The game combines elements of so-called walking sims with a series of puzzles and systems for navigating both sea and land. We are constantly on the move during the game, traversing landscapes with a harsh, cold climate. We use a dog sled during our journey, skillfully maneuvering through snowy trails and battling through fierce snowstorms.

What sets WILL: Follow The Light apart from other games of this type is the simulation element in the form of mechanics related to sailing a yacht. We manage to overcome icy fjords and stormy seas thanks to a realistic navigation system that uses latitude and longitude coordinates. A meteorological station assists us in charting our course.

Duuro Magazine: 7 / 10 by Krist Duro

WILL: Follow The Light is not a clean hit, but I enjoyed it. It has a strong premise, beautiful locations, enjoyable sailing, and enough emotional ambition to make the journey worthwhile. It also has awkward story transitions, shallow puzzles, and themes that needed clearer focus. If you like slow narrative adventures and do not mind some rough edges, there is something here worth experiencing, especially on Series X.

MKAU Gaming: 8 / 10 by Sammy Hanson

WILL: Follow the Light puts you in the thick of it by taking on raging storms out in the ocean to search far and wide, all for your missing son. Completing tasks and solving puzzles can be fun or tedious, but the gameplay of sailing treacherous seas helps turn a simple story into an epic adventure. WILL: Follow the Light isn’t just a video game; it’s an experience.

Impulsegamer: 3.5 / 5 by Adrian Gunning

WILL: Follow the Light is a thoughtful and cinematic adventure built on varied gameplay, strong atmosphere and a personal story about this father, his relationships and the search for meaning in the aftermath of loss. Without spoiling the game, it is one that must be experienced without any prior expectations and with just a limited knowledge of the story. As to the gameplay, it mostly works but some of the glitches can shake you out of the immersion factor but if you enjoy those surreal walking type games, WILL: Follow the Light might be just for you.
