Willy Jetman: The Astromonkey's Revenge is a metroidvania-type game in platform shoot'em up convention. The game was developed by the independent studio Last Chicken Games and published by BadLand Publishing.
Willy Jetman: Astromonkey's Revenge takes place on the fictional planet Gravos. In its orbit, an AC-137 space cargo ship collided with an unknown object. The main hero of the game - street cleaner named Willy - decides to take on the job of cleaning the globe from fragments of the wreck. Willy does not yet know that he has become involved in the intrigue on which the fate of all Gravos inhabitants depends.
In Willy Jetman: Astromonkey's Revenge the action is shown from the side. During the game we visit vast locations (both on the surface of the planet and in the caves spreading underneath it), which resemble labyrinths in their construction. As usual for a metroidvania, access to many levels requires the prior unlocking of specific equipment or skills. The next stages are full of various terrain obstacles and traps that Willy overcomes by jumping and making use of his jet pack.
Elimination of enemy troops also plays an important role here. The fights are dynamic, and during them we make use of a variety of weapons including a machine gun, flamethrower, laser gun or even grenades. We have a number of serial enemies as well as bosses who are much stronger than them. As we progress, hero gains experience and unlocks new abilities. We also increase its combat potential by purchasing new equipment, for which we exchange credits gained for cleaning up fragments of the space wreck.
Willy Jetman: Astromonkey's Revenge has colorful pixelart graphics.
