An original two-dimensional adventure game developed by Amanita Design - an independent Czech studio popular for the Samorost series. The action is set in a bizarre world made entirely of metal. All the plants, wildlife and humans were replaced by robots. The player assumes the role of one such robot, wrongfully sent to a junkyard. Once back in town, the protagonist discovers the existence of a conspiracy aiming to murder its leader. He decides to prevent the murder attempt and tries to get back his girlfriend along the way. The game is based on the classic point-and-click mechanics and the player collects various items when exploring subsequent locations and solves a set of relatively simple puzzles. Machinarium stands out with its well-made hand-drawn visuals inspired by industrial architecture, old and rusty machinery, as well as by classics of science-fiction literature.

An original horror game created by Scott Cawthon, an independent gamemaker. The player assumes the role of a watchman who takes up a seasonal job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. What is important about the restaurant, is that mechanical mascots are its main attraction. A seemingly easy job turns into a true nightmare during the very first night, when the protagonist discovers that the sympathetic animatronics come to life after dark and display a hostile attitude towards humans. Trapped in a cramped watch room, the protagonist has to avoid contact with murderous robots during five subsequent nights. The task is not easy, because using various devices, such as lighting and monitoring systems, as well as locking the door drains the power supply, which has to be appropriately managed throughout the entire night. Despite its simplistic mechanics, Five Nights at Freddy's provides a good dose of anxiety and is capable of frightening the player with ease.
Endless Fables: The Minotaur's Curse (WP)

A casual adventure game featuring hidden objects and developed as a result of the cooperation between a Hungarian studio Sunward Games and Artifex Mundi - a Polish publisher. The game focuses on the character of Pamela Cavendish, who has is given a chance to learn the truth behind a popular myth. Using Ariadne's Thread, the protagonist explores many diverse locations and overcomes the numerous obstacles she encounters. Her goal is to stop a mysterious religious group that has made efforts to resurrect the titular Minotaur. Finding the so-called Chosen One turns out to be the best solution, for this person is the only one capable of defeating the monster once and for all. In terms of the visuals, the game resembles the high standards Artifex Mundi had achieved with their previous titles. The mechanics also include patterns typical for HOPA games. Thus the player explores particular locations and gathers items required to solve the puzzles they stumble on. The experience is diversified with numerous, arcade-logic games and scenes featuring hidden objects.
Demon Hunter 3: Revelation (WP)

A HOPA adventure co-developed by Brave Giant from Serbia and Artifex Mundi from Poland. Just like its two previous parts, Dawn Harlock is the protagonist. She conducts an investigation into a homicide of a woman and a mysterious disappearance of her daughter. The heroine soon learns that there is a new and evil force involved in the case and the unusual events may have something to do with her own vague origin. In Demon Hunter 3: Revelation, you move around static locations where you solve puzzles, look for hidden items, and play minigames which challenge your perceptivity and quick thinking. While doing all of this, step by step, you unravel elements of the plot. The title features quality, colorful, and hand-drawn graphics. Gameplay is accompanied by an original and harmonic soundtrack.
Five Nights at Freddy's 3 (WP)
The third installment of the very popular horror developed by Scott Cawthon. The action of the game takes place in the titular restaurant which is overrun by deadly animatronics. When the memory of the tragic events that occurred in previous installments of the series becomes almost forgotten, the pizzeria that was closed for thirty years becomes renovated. The new owner intends to use the deadly past of the place as a marketing trick which will attract many customers. A new mechanic toy is a very important part of the decorations – there is only one, but it is stronger and scarier than its predecessors. The gameplay is based on similar principles as the previous installments of the series. The player assumes the role of a night watchman who must survive five nights in this dangerous place. Simple gameplay mechanics are only the tools used for telling an intriguing story which the player will reveal as he progresses in the game. The plot forces the player to repeat the game many times in order to discover all hints related to the story.
Lara Croft GO (WP)

A spin-off to the adventures of the beautiful archaeologist Lara Croft, created for mobile platforms users by one of Square Enix’s studios, which also created a mobile game featuring Agent 47. Gameplay combines elements characteristic for the Tomb Raider series – e.g. exploring ruins and tombs filled with traps – with turn-based logic game mechanics borrowed from Hitman GO. The action is presented in isometric view and the player’s goal is to go through various locations by moving on predefined paths, disable traps, and fight enemies. To make matters more difficult, a part of a location is not visible at the beginning, so you need to precisely plan what to do – each inconsiderate move costs a lot. The game features simple hand-drawn graphics and an atmospheric soundtrack.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 provides a continuation to an unusual game created by Scott Cawthon and awarded a series of prizes - it was considered the most original horror title of 2014. In this second installment, the player takes on the role of a new watchman working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Despite the warnings received from his predecessor, he decided to give it a try and stay at the restaurant overnight. Although the entire building was rebuilt and the famous animatronics were gifted with completely new software along with a face recognition system, the robots are still hungry for human lives after dark. Surviving five subsequent nights at the restaurant turns out to be quite a challenge. In terms of the mechanics, the second installment is based on a slightly modified gameplay formula of the original game. Instead of being in charge of a lighting system, the protagonist is equipped with only a flashlight. The watch room has one entrance only now, but without a door. Thus the only way to avoid getting killed by the animatronics here is to put on a special mask which fools the face recognition systems of the robots.

The third installment in the casual hidden-objects adventure game series, developed by Polish studio Artifex Mundi. You play as Sylwia, an amnesiac acolyte of the monster-hunting Order. When a powerful artifact, containing a malevolent being known as the Nightmare, is stolen from the Order's headquarters, Sylwia and her mentor embark on a quest to find it. During her journey she fights not only the forces of evil, lurking in the underground of a grim gothic city of Lichtenheim, but also the dark secrets of her own past. Grim Legends 3: The Dark City follows closely in the footsteps of its predecessors and the genre as a whole. It's an adventure game with an absorbing plot, and the gameplay focuses on searching locations, which are filled with hidden objects. The game also features many mini-games and logic puzzles, further developing the story.
Enigmatis 3: The Shadow of Karkhala (WP)

The third installment of the series of investigation adventure/hidden object games that is one of the more popular franchises created by Polish studio Artifex Mundi. In Enigmatis 3: The Shadow of Karkhala the player follows the protagonists known from the previous installments of the series, who join forces with hopes of catching the series' main antagonist, the demonic preacher. This time he is traveling towards the Karakorum Mountains where in an ancient temple lies his final destination – a secret that will allow him to take over the world. Mechanics of the game are similar as in typical titles of this genre and as in previous games developed by Artifex Mundi. They combine interesting story and features of classic adventure games with many minigames and scenes that require the player to find hidden objects. In contrast to the grim atmosphere of previous entries in the series, this time the player explores mountain landmarks and places inspired by the culture of China and Far East.

An adventure game with hidden object puzzle elements, created by indie studio World-LooM. Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom is set in a fantasy world. The protagonist is a young alchemy adept, who returns home and tries to find her lost parents. The search leads her towards a dark secret, which threatens the whole kingdom. The gameplay in Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom consists of solving various puzzles and finding various hidden objects. The alchemist visits 30 locations, where she can find hints concerning the intrigue, and useful items. The production features an expansive alchemy system, hand-draw 2D graphics, animated cutscenes, and a soundtrack specifically composed for the game.
Five Nights at Freddy's 4 (WP)
The fourth and final installment of the independent horror game series by Scott Cawthon. In Five Nights at Freddy’s 4, we have to face the murderous animatronic toys yet again. Compared to its predecessors, the title's gameplay formula has been changed. While plying, we do not assume the role of a security guard anymore, but a small child that has to survive the five eponymous nights in his own home which is overrun by bloodthirsty toys. We cannot track their movements by a monitoring system and have to check out each of the five available locations (two parts of a kid's bedroom, cabinet, and left and right hall) on our own. For the first time in history of the series, we can run, peek through the door, look into the cabinet, and turn around. Our only weapon is the flashlight that lets us scare the animatronics away.

The players assume the role of a small girl that embarks on a rescue mission to save her favorite teddy bear, who has been kidnapped by a mysterious monster and taken to a magical world filled with mysterious beings and creatures. The game is characteristic for its lack of dialogue, while the visuals employ retro Pixel Art style and are suitable for both PC and all major mobile platforms.

The story begins when a mysterious Black Knight kidnaps Nevin, a boy living in the forests of White Kingdom. The player assumes control of Gillian, the boy’s mother who attempts to pursue the knight in order to save her son. The game takes place on static, hand-drawn locations.

A sequel to the HOPA game Eventide: Slavic Fable. Eventide 2: The Sorcerer’s Mirror once again follows a botanist named Mary. This time around, the protagonist tries to free her niece from the clutches of an immortal wizard, Twardowski. The search of the relative leads Mary through blackwoods that teem with ancient power, steep mountain paths, and ruins that are full of imps, ghosts and other mythical creatures. To defeat the legendary wizard, the protagonist has to solve the mystery of a magic village and ask unusual allies, such as the famous outlaw Janosik, for help. While playing, we visit 30 varied locations inspired by Slavic folklore, solve logic puzzles, and search numerous levels for hidden objects. Eventide 2: The Sorcerer’s Mirror features a non-linear plot which is unusual to the genre. The heroine’s decisions influence the fate of other characters and the story’s climax. The production offers detailed hand-drawn graphics enriched with simple animation.
