Wytchwood is an adventure game focused on gathering and crafting set in a fairy-tale world. The production was developed by an indie studio, Alientrap.
In Wytchwood you play as a mysterious witch living in an ancient forest. The fate of all the people and creatures living in the woods is in her hands—she can choose to unleash her wrath on someone or decide that not everyone needs to learn their lesson by being cursed.
Wytchwood is an adventure game utilizing an isometric view. The gameplay focuses on gathering and growing unusual ingredients (such as fear in a bottle, poisonous mushrooms or newt eyes), which are then used to make spells and potions using the crafting system. It's worth noting that the recipes for curses can be researched on your own. You can also explore the large fantastical world, full of interesting NPCs, monsters, and puzzles.
Wytchwood features nice, colorful hand-drawn visuals, which resemble illustrations from children's books.

Game Ratings for Wytchwood Video Game.
Screen Rant: 4.5 / 5 by Laura Gray
While less carefree than simulation titles like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley, the casual pacing and nonchalant nature of the main character make Wytchwood a great pick for relaxing exploration-style games. It is also a great choice for those who enjoy crafting and survival games, but prefer to have questlines to follow instead of self-governed gameplay. While the 2D art style is fun and reminiscent of storybook illustrations, this game is likely not the best pick for younger players due to questlines dealing with horror elements, as well as graphic depictions of animal death when using traps and lures. However, fans of twisted fairytales and creepy magical plotlines will likely find Wytchwood an enjoyable and spine-tingling experience.

When I think of games that heavily involve crafting my mind usually goes to survival titles, a genre I’ve struggled with though there have been some exceptions to the rule...

A pop-up picture book with a lovely feel - but busywork intrudes too often.
