Minecraft: Collecting gravel, sand - how to do it fast, instantly?

There is a simple trick that allows you to quickly collect raw loose materials like gravel or sand, in Minecraft. Gravel, however, is not widely used, however, using this trick to destroy blocks, you can successfully use it to go to a great height or create temporary scaffolding, because then you will destroy the entire thickness of the gravel with one trick. Sand also finds wider application as you can remake it into glass.

To perform this technique, you only need a torch. Destroy one block of gravel / sand at the base and place the torch in this place immediately. Consecutive blocks falling on the torch will be destroyed and thrown nearby.
