Cliff Bleszinski's LawBreakers online shooter drops F2P model and gets more mature

Cliff Bleszinski's upcoming online shooter is no longer a F2P game. Instead, LawBreakers will be released as a Premium title. Moreover, the game will be darker and more mature on the visual level.

No microtransactions and no paid subscription – LawBreakers will be a Premium title.

Cliff Bleszinski – a famous game developer who gave us Gears of War – has decided to alter the concept for his upcoming online shooter. Despite the original idea, LawBreakers will not be released as free-to-play, but rather a digital Premium title – this means that there won’t be any microtransactions in the game – you only pay once. Although it isn’t clear how much LawBreakers will cost, we know for sure it will be below $60 mark. Speaking about the rationale behind this decision, Bleszinski explained:

“As the game continued to take shape, we realized free-to-play wasn’t the right fit for what we’re building. LawBreakers is a competitive game at heart and that means balance is a big priority to me, my team, and our community. Using a digital premium model helps ensure an even playing field by giving fans access to every available role without any barriers.”

Another change LawBreakers has underwent is the art style; in order to stand out from multiple colorful online shooters like Blizzard’s Overwatch or Gearbox’s Battleborn, Bleszinski’s new project will feature darker and more mature graphics. This will also highlight the game’s intensly violent and competitive nature.
