The son of Sparda will get his own TV animation. Netflix has unveiled a teaser for Devil May Cry, which will mark the debut of demon hunter Dante on the platform.
At its recent Drop 01 digital event, Netflix announced its latest animated adaptation of Devil May Cry. The show will bring Dante - the demon hunter from Capcom's games - to a new audience. The streaming giant also released a trailer showing the character in action, indicating that the show will be released soon.
The series focuses on the hero, on whose shoulders rests the fate of the world. Dark forces are constantly working to open a portal between the human and demonic worlds, which threatens chaos engulfing our realm. Dante, an orphan and demon hunter, is unaware of his role in this conflict.
The trailer shows Dante fighting in his characteristic way against invisible opponents, using the familiar pair of guns, Ebony and Ivory. Dante's rival, Vergil, and his ally, Lady, will also appear in the storyline.
The show does not yet have an exact release date. Netflix has only stated that it will appear on the platform "soon". The upcoming production is the second - after the Devil May Cry: The Animated Series anime from 2007 - to adapt the popular video game series Devil May Cry.
