Not much is currently being said about DayZ, but that's a mistake. The survival game by Bohemia Interactive is in fact, more popular than ever now.

  1. Yesterday DayZ set a a new activity record on Steam. At the hottest moment of the day, the game was played by 69,449 players simultaneously.
  2. DayZ's gaming community has been slowly but steadily growing for several months. The new record is also due to recent updates - patch 1.23 introduced improvements to sky graphics and new items, and in late October the game had a successful crossover with Dying Light 2. The game was also helped by a Halloween sale.
  3. Overall DayZ is currently doing well. The game is very popular, and updates are keeping the players interested.

The community's satisfaction with the game's current condition can also be seen on Steam. While counting all reviews only 75% of them are positive, among those from the last 30 days 87% praise DayZ, which is categorized as a "very positive" reception.

Recall that DayZ debuted in early access on PC in 2013, and five years later version 1.0 was released, while ports for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles debuted in 2019.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that, according to recent reports Bohemia Interactive is already working on DayZ 2. We will have to wait a long time for the project, as it is expected to be released only after Arma 4. First DayZ therefore probably awaits many more years of development.
