DayZ is currently overshadowed by many new online titles, but in reality, the game is performing very well and continues to maintain high player interest. Therefore, it came as no surprise to anyone when Bohemia Interactive studio announced that the game and the entire brand would continue to be intensively developed this year.
First and foremost, the devs disclosed their plans to expand the brand and are investing a significant amount of resources into it. We don't know what this exactly means, but the most obvious possibilities include the announcement of a new game within this universe or the adaptation of DayZ for other media. The first results of these efforts will be disclosed this year. At present, the developers have only declared that it will be a "huge milestone for the brand and an exhilarating moment that fans won't want to miss."
DayZ will continue to be developed. The devs aren't prepared to disclose all the details yet, but they have hinted at some new features we can anticipate in 2024.
It's not known when all these novelties will be made available. The devs have previously stated that a significant update will be released in the autumn, but that doesn't mean we won't receive any improvements earlier.
It should also be mentioned that update 1.24 for DayZ has just been released.
DayZ was released in early access on PC in 2013, and version 1.0 was released five years later. Conversions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were released in 2019. The game is doing great. Two months ago, the game set a new activity record on Steam - 73,418 players playing at the same time.
Currently, there is a promotion on Steam, which allows you to buy DayZ for $26.99. The price of the expansion Livonia has also been reduced to $9.79. Meanwhile, the bundle containing the game and DLC is now priced at $33.10. These offers will remain valid until February 28. PlayStation Store also hosted similar promotions. Unfortunately, this sale doesn't currently apply to Xbox consoles.
