The new game from the developer of the Dragon Age series is Eternal Strands. The first trailer of the title shows inspiration from Shadow of the Colossus, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and the Monster Hunter series.
We recently reported that Mike Laidlaw, the main designer of the first two installments of the Dragon Age series and the creative director of Inquisition, is developing a new action-adventure game. Today, as promised, we have gained more specifics about the inaugural project from the Yellow Brick Games studio (of which Laidlaw is a co-founder). The first trailer has been released with gameplay fragments from Eternal Strands (below).
We will embody Brynn, the fearless Weaver in the game, who aims to "recover her people's cultural home." To achieve this, she will need to confront a variety of monsters and use her magical powers in battles. In creating the mechanics of Eternal Strands, Studio Yellow Brick Games was inspired by two popular games and one well-known series (via IGN).
Hurl burning tree trunks at enemies with telekinetic powers, snap nearby trees to block opposing fire, or channel raw telekinetic force to rip boulders from the ground -- we read in the game's description on Steam.
We don't know when Eternal Strands is going to come out. However, we know that the game will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
