Fallout 4 gets a new Survival mode – beta available on Steam

Bethesda Softworks has released Steam beta of Fallout 4's new Survival mode. Its overhauled version discards fast travel and bans you from saving the game anytime you want.

If you think Fallout 4 was too easy, you will be happy to hear that Bethesda Softworks has been preparing an overhauled Survival Difficulty. Its beta is already available on Steam – in order to participate in testing just right-click the game in your Library, open Properties, go to Betas tab and select the available program. After this, the update (taking up roughly half a gigabyte) will be downloaded automatically. Of course, you can just wait for the full release, which should happen soon.

Surviving in the Wasteland has just got harder.

As for the changes, the new Survival mode offers no fast travel option and you can save the game only when you sleep. Furthermore, exploring the Wasteland becomes even more dangerous, as combat is now much more deadly (for both your character and the enemies), opponents do not appear on the compass, ammo has got weight (which depends on its type), and you have to consider diseases and fatigue factors that can lower your stats or even outright kill you. On the bright side, locations once cleared of enemies and loot will now repopulate at a much slower rate. For more details head over to Steam News.
