The popular MonsterVerse launched in 2014, when the new western Godzilla was released in theaters. The King of the Monsters returned along with other kaiju on the occasion of several new features. Now, originally hailing from Japan, Gojira will return in the TV show Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

This show will present a unique story that will take place in two time periods. The action of some episodes will take viewers back to the 1950s, while the rest will take place in the present day. Both time frames will focus on the character of a U.S. Army officer named Lee Shaw.

For this reason, a rather unusual situation will occur, as the same character will be played by two actors - Kurt Russell and his son, Wyatt. This is the third time the men will appear in the same production. Previously, viewers could admire them in Escape from Los Angeles and Soldier.

What is known about the show itself? Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will consist of ten episodes and will represent the next step in the development of the MonsterVerse.

Unfortunately, but for now it is not known when the production will debut on Apple TV. One thing is certain, when it does, the mythical creatures headed by Godzilla will surely capture the hearts of many a fan of giant monsters.
