Refreshed versions of GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas didn't receive a warm reception from players. So, it's no wonder that unhappy fans prefer to take matters into their own hands and try to adapt the iconic classic to today's standards on their own. A few days ago, one of them presented a remake of GTA: San Andreas made on Unreal Engine 5.

The YouTube user going by EnzoElRich recreated the famous opening scene of the popular Rockstar game. While doing so, he kept the original character voices and camera shots to capture the original atmosphere as faithfully as possible, while also adding some new scenes. Besides that, in the video, we also get to see scenes of CJ walking around the city, riding a bike, and driving a car.

The project was developed by one guy, so it should be approached with the right attitude. Imperfections are quite easy to notice. Here, we could mention, for example, very stiff animations or movements of NPCs, which look as if they were displayed at too low a frame rate per second.

With a bit more polish, the result could make an even better impression. Still, considering it's the work of just one person, the project looks pretty impressive. The people commenting on the video are saying the same thing. Some even argue that it looks better than Definitive Edition released by Rockstar Games.

Very good, this is a real remake, not that Definitive Edition...

How on earth did you manage to make a remake better than a company that has absolutely everything it needs to create something on a completely different level?

EnzoElRich also recreated other productions on Unreal Engine, such as the first God of War, Metal Gear Solid, and Spider-Man. You can find the videos on his YouTube channel.
