PC gamers can test Hades 2 starting today. People owning consoles will have to wait a little bit. Regardless of the platform though, many players would like to learn more about multiplayer and coop in the new production from Supergiants Games. The “2” in the title is a great opportunity to add a coop mode, right? Well, it’s not so easy...

Hades 2 – Coop and Multiplayer Explained

If you are a fan of multiplayer games, we have some bad news for you. In the official FAQ developers announced that Hades 2 is and will be a singleplayer game. Looking at the answer, we may assume that it will stay that way. Some titles are created with one person in mind, and we should accept that.

Like its predecessor, Hades II is a single-player game. We have no plans for multiplayer, as we are creating the gameplay and narrative of Hades II with a solo experience in mind.

While it may be saddening, we should not be surprised by this decision. As the developers said themselves, the previous installment in the genre, Hades, was also a singleplayer experience. Of course, we may expect all sorts of improvements in the successor, so counting on the multiplayer mode was something natural. Regardless, there are many coop or competitive titles out there, which we can enjoy. Let’s cherish gameplay tailored for one person, too.

If you don’t have Hades 2 yet for some reason (for example you play on a console), you may want to replay original Hades. If you do so, you should look at our guide.
