Octopath Traveler 2 features an opponent also known from the previous installment of the series - Cait. Defeating it gives a lot of advantages. Unfortunately, the creature is very difficult to find. However, you can increase your chances of an encounter. Cait Powder is used for this purpose. Below you will find information on how to get it.
Octopath Traveler 2 - who is Cait?
Cait is a very rare type of opponent, which resembles a cat. He appears at random times at any point on the map. Once you come across the creature, the fight itself goes very quickly - because you have to kill it in the first turn. Otherwise the creature will simply run away.
As for the stats possessed by Cait - the creature is characterized by high speed, a high chance of dodging and a very small number of HP with two shields. It is also susceptible to melee attacks, using knives, swords and axes, for example.
Importantly, killing Cait gives a huge amount of experience points. Therefore, you can easily level up yout party with its help. Therefore, it is worth increasing your chances of encountering this creature. There are two ways to do this:
- acquiring and using Cait Powder;
- having a Hunter with the More Rare Monsters skill.
It is also worth bearing in mind that there is an even rarer version of this creature - Chubby Cait. It is fought identically to the basic version, but the rewards for defeating it are even higher.
Octopath Traveler 2 - how to get Cait Powder?
In Octopath Traveler 2 there are two ways to get Cait Powder. One of them, however, is morally questionable.
Completing the side quest My Beloved Catharine
The first way to get Cait Powder is to complete the side quest My Beloved Catharine. This mission is assigned to you by the Haggard Man residing in Clockbank. Its goal is to find his cat - the titular Catharine.
The creature is located in the left part of Clockbank's industrial district. Lead the quest giver to it, and you will be rewarded with Cait Powder.
Beating the Cat Connoisseur
This way is definitely morally questionable. This is because you have to get to the house of Cat Connoisseur located in the northwestern part of the Tropu'hop. The problem, however, is that the woman won't let anyone into it. Therefore, you must force her to do so.
Once you have beaten the Cat Connoisseur you can go inside. There you will find a chest that contains Cait Powder.
