There is a secret boss in Octopath Traveler 2. It is the main antagonist of the first installment – Galdera. This time the opponent is even stronger. We will tell you how to unlock the most difficult fight in the game and give you some tips how to survive it.

Complete The Traveler's Bag

This quest is peculiar. All characters can encounter it soon after they leave the first city. You will meet Al, who was robbed. Your task is to catch the thief. This mission starts in different places and it will end in different locations (it depends on your main protagonist). Remember that the culprit is always close to the starting location. Return the bag to Al.

Complete Procuring Peculiar Tomes

You can start this quest in Montwise (Crestlands). Talk to Unusual Tome Specialist in the library. This person looks for 3 books:

1. Dispatches from Beastling Island – go to the Beasting Village (Toto’haha) and talk to the Foreign Traveler (near save point). You can buy or steal the book.
2. The Curious Legend of the Great Wall – travel to Stormhail (Winterlands). Go South, later West. Climb the mountain in the South. Talk to Archeologist near save point. Buy or steal the book.
3. From the far Reaches of Hell – go to Crackridge (Wildlands). Find the only home with the guard in front of it (it is down the ladder). Use Path action to knock him out (for example Throne’s Ambush). Enter the house – the book is in the chest.
4. Give tomes to the Specialist.

Complete From the Far Reaches of Hell

In the same library where the Specialist is located (Montwise, Crestlands), you can also find Al. It is possible to meet him only during the day and you have to complete his quest (The Traveler's Bag). He will ask you for help in translating From the far Reaches of Hell. This will start the quest.

1. Go to Toto’Haha. Swim North, you will find an island. There is the boss Gigantes on the top of the mountain. This enemy is vulnerable to swords, bows, fire, ice and lightning. The opponent can increase shields that is why you should take Ochette to the battle.
2. Talk to Georges Lazuli. Use Path action to acquire needed information.
3. Go back to Al and talk to him.

??? Island

There is a ??? Island on The Sundering Sea. Travel there. You will find doors there. After doing quests presented above, they will open. It is an entrance to the new location. Go into the dungeon. You will meet wounded Al there. If you go farther the warning about danger will appear. Accepting it will start the battle with Galdera. Use the save point before it!

Tips to beat Galdera in Octopath Traveler 2

Galdera fight – Ganeral information

Galdera is considered the strongest boss in Octopath Traveler 2. It has 2 phases and multiple elements to attack. It deals a lot of damage to your HP, but the boss influences also your BP.

1. Galdera has 2 phases.
2. You have to use primary and secondary party in this fight. Each team fights a different phase.
3. Both squads should be at least 80+ lvl, recommended: 90+.
4. You should collect as many Battle Tested weapons as possible. Other powerful equipment is also necessary.
5. After the fight you will get Spurning ribbon. It wards off all enemy encounters.
