Nahantu is the name of a new map in the Vessel of Hatred, but you won't get there right away when you start the DLC. We have described the required steps to unlock Nahantu and the Bazaar Kurast.
With the release of the Vessel of Hatred DLC for Diablo 4, the world map has been expanded with a new region, Nahantu. In this guide, we have described all the steps that will allow you to unlock access to Nahantu and Kurast – the most important city of the new region.
Warning, on this page you will find potential spoilers - we present the map of the expansion and details about some locations.
You must first start the seventh act of the campaign – by default, it will become available after defeating the final boss of act 6, but you can also create a new character and choose to start straight from the DLC. You can read more about this topic here.
The first main quest of the expansion is Rekindled Faith, in which you will visit the Cathedral of Light.
Here are some mandatory tasks to complete in the regions from the base campaign. They are:
In the final part of the Enmity Rising quest you will approach the Crumbled Bridge leading to Nahantu. You must defeat Hollows first.
After the battles, you can interact with the Crumbled Bridge. This will trigger a longer cut-scene. Next, you will wake up in the northern part of Nahantu. You will meet Eru and start the first main quest related to the new area of the world – Thrust Into the Dark.
We recommend that you focus on the first few quests in the new land so you can unlock, e.g. the Den – an important base for your hero and allies.
In the Thrust Into the Dark quest, you have to investigate the Dark Passageway and visit the Ancient Ruins dungeon. The most important moment of its exploration is the fight with the boss Nangari Deathworker. After winning the fight, you can use the rope and get to the Den. Complete The Hand Remembers the Blade quest here to unlock its main functions.
The current world map will be expanded with the Nahantu region – it is located in the southwestern part. You have to explore it to get rid of the fog of war. Once revealed, locations will remain visible permanently, even after switching to another character.
The Crumbled Bridge will be rebuilt and will become the default transition between the old areas and the new region. After taking over the Kichuk Stronghold (northeastern part of Nahantu), a second passage will also become available. Using the bridges is of course optional and you are free to use waypoints to fast travel.
The Den is the first safe place in the new land – it is located underground. In addition to the stash and traders, more mercenaries to recruit may appear here - the first of them is Raheir, with whom you can travel right away. You will unlock the next mercenaries by completing quests associated with them.
Other important locations are Kurast Docks and Kurast Bazaar - the latter is a large urban location where you will find all the important traders, service providers or quest givers. In Kurast, there are also Training Grounds and the Undercity - a special type of dungeons, where each floor has to be completed within a time limit.
