Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred

Vessel of Hatred is the first story expansion to Diablo IV, a 2023 action RPG. Like the base game, it was created by an American studio Blizzard Entertainment.

Plot

Vessel of Hatred is set shortly after the events of Diablo IV. It revolves around Mephisto, Lord of Hatred, one of three Prime Evils.

The game is set in a new region, Nahantu - near the city of Kurast, where the player fought Mephisto in Diablo II. The area is a dense jungle full of waterfalls and unique buildings reminiscent of Aztec architecture (terraced pyramids serving as temples, etc.).

Mechanics

Gameplay-wise, Vessel of Hatred doesn't differ much from Diablo IV. The player must complete main quests and side quests, cutting down hordes of monsters. This rewards us with experience, letting us level up and unlock more powerful abilities. The Vessel of Hatred expansion introduces new playstyles and a new character class one can beat the entire game with.

Technical aspects

Vessel of Hatred is not a standalone expansion, requiring the base version of Diablo IV.
