Still trying to get Cavendish? Learn how to obtain this mighty banana Joker in Balatro.
Balatro is a roguelike deckbuilding poker game with 8 difficulty modes and various runs options that cater to both casual players and hardcore strategists. With 150 powerful Joker cards, you can craft extreme combos to rack up massive wins. In this guide, we will look closer at how to unlock Cavendish, a common banana-fuelled Joker that requires a specific method to obtain.
The key to unlocking Cavendish in Balatro is to get Gros Michel Joker first, a little overripe banana card. This item gives you a +15 multiplier and has a 1 in 4 chance to be destroyed at the end of round. When Gros Michel gets destroyed, you have a chance for Cavendish to appear in the store. However, the odds are still relatively low, so be prepared for some patience and luck.
To maximize your chances of obtaining Cavendish, focus on Gros Michel. Always include this card in your Joker slots, and after its fateful destruction, check the shop. You can also try to reroll the store to refresh the available cards for purchase, but this will require spending some in-game currency.
When you have Cavendish in your Joker slots, it triples your multiplier. This means you’ll earn three times the chips you normally would for each hand you play. However, there is a 1 to 1,000 chance of Cavendish being destroyed after the end of each round.

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
