Balatro has already sold more than a million copies. The popular game is heading to new platforms.
The modest card game, which made its debut less than a month ago, has achieved another significant milestone. The dev of Balatro, the game in question, boasted on social media about the number of copies sold of his well-received production.
In the near future, the card game will also be available on mobile devices with Android and iOS systems. During a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, the developer confirmed that work on these ports is ongoing. By the way, let's note that the Mac version of the game has been available since March 1, and one of the reasons for its creation was... the creator's friend, who uses Apple devices on a daily basis.
Furthermore, the developer admitted that it was only the day before the official premiere of the game that thoughts of success began to reach him.
The day before launch is when it really started hitting home that this could be something successful, when all the major media outlets started releasing their reviews of the game. I was not expecting the critical reception it ended up receiving because I know how weird this game looks and feels in many ways, said the dev of Balatro.
Despite the great success of the game, obstacles are also being thrown in its path. Recently, the age category of the game was changed, causing it to be removed from the Nintendo eShop in some countries. However, the game has already returned to sale in most of them.
