Enabling multiplayer in Fantasy Life i The Girl Who Steals Time requires some extra steps. Here you will learn about how to enjoy it with your friends in coop.
Recently, when we use the word “jRPG”, most of us probably think about Clair Obscure Expedition 33 outright. However, there are still other, classical takes on this genre that touch a bit lighter themes than slow extermination of humankind by mysterious Paintress. In 2012, Level 5 studio created the original Fantasy Life, available only on Nintendo 3DS, which takes us to a world called Reveria. Now, we will have an opportunity to come back to this universe in a sequel called Fantasy Life i The Girl Who Steals Time. It’s a great game to chill with your friends, yet it doesn't allow to connect with them right away. What is necessary to start multiplayer and how does the coop work? Let’s find out!
Cooperation mode is blended into the gameplay in Fantasy Life i. This solution can make the production more immersive, but it’s not very straightforward. In order to enable multiplayer in this title, you will have to get to the Guild Office, where after interacting with the counter you will be able to select “Online Play”. The bureau is located at your Base Camp, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find. However, you will have to be patient, as the option is unlocked in Chapter 3.
This should be simple enough to do, yet there is a caveat, though you might be well aware of it already – playing online on consoles like Nintendo Switch, Playstation or Xbox requires paid subscription. It is worth noting that since Fantasy Life i is available on PC, it’s the only option to play it in multiplayer for free… or is it?
Not necessarily, as there is another way to enjoy this game with others on consoles without any extra cost – Family Coop that enables playing together on the same device. It is quite limited though, as it supports only one additional participant, while the online multiplayer allows for total of 4 players at the same time. It also comes with some additional hardware requirements:
Remember – you can’t use Family coop mode and online multiplayer at the same time.
Hopefully, now you know everything that you need to take on the adventure with a good company. Have fun!
