Each historical persona featured in the game brings their distinctive governance style and aspirations to the forefront. What is more they have special powers unique only for them – Commands. In this guide we will tell you how to use them, as it may be confusing.

How to unlock Commands in Total War Pharaoh

Commands are not unlocked at the beginning of the game and it may confuse many players. To use them, you have to wait for the end of the year – but don’t mistake it for the end of the turn. In TW Pharaoh, the year is divided into 6 seasons (you can see it in the lower right corner of the screen). Commands will unlock itself when you enter the last period – Shemsu Hor.

Commands are special powers of your faction. Each of the leaders has two Commands:

  1. Active: this is unlocked when you actively use it during a year. After doing so, there is a cooldown till the end of the year and you have to wait to use it once again. To turn on a command you must press a button on the right of your screen.
  2. Passive: it will unlock itself once you enter Shemsu Hor (the last season of the year), if you have not used your active command sooner. Of course, it does not mean that you don’t have to do anything to activate it. For example, if you can recruit additional units thanks to the command, you have to do it manually, they will beniot hired automatically, remember about that.
