Indiana Jones May Launch on PlayStation Depending on Disney

During his recent podcast, insider Jez Corden stated that the Indiana Jones game developed by Bethesda may not be a Microsoft exclusive.

Plans to bring the adventures of the iconic archaeologist to gaming platforms were first heard of in January last year. That was when Bethesda, the company responsible for such brands as The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, confirmed that it is working on an Indiana Jones game together with Machine Games. At the time, all signs on heaven and earth indicated that the new work of developers will be reserved for Xbox consoles and PCs. That was until the aforementioned podcast.

Multiplatformity

During the broadcast, hosted by insider Jez Corden, working for Windows Central, it was noted that despite the acquisition of Bethesda (and Machine Games, which is a part of it) by Microsoft, the emerging Indiana Jones game will not be available exclusively on Xbox platforms. Considering that titles landing on those consoles usually hit PC at the same time, Corden was probably referring to the game's possible release on PlayStation consoles as well. By the way, the journalist added that he learned this information a year ago, so something may have changed in this matter since then..

Of course, there is a high probability that Microsoft has changed the terms of Bethesda's agreement with Disney and wants to release the game exclusively on Xbox and PC. After all, Sony has Spider-Man, another Disney property, as a PlayStation exclusive. But maybe that's not the case, and the company will take advantage of the game's immense popularity, wanting to maximize its sales on as many platforms as possible, especially with a new Indiana Jones movie coming out next year.

We refer you to the aforementioned podcast below.

Conflicting information

We did not have to wait long for an answer on this matter. Nick Baker, co-founder of the XboxEra website, tweeted that he had heard the opposite, namely that Indiana Jones is not coming to PlayStation.

So far, we have learned very little in the subject of possible multiplatformity of the new project of Bethesda. We can only hope that the creators will reveal something during this year's Xbox & Bethesda Showcase. Microsoft's event is set to begin on June 12.
