LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga With 300 Playable Characters and Plot Changes

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will offer us a throng of playable characters. One of the developers from TT Games revealed a bit about the game's gameplay and story.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will feature 300 playable characters, including Babu Frik;
  2. The story may differ from that presented in the latest Star Wars movie trilogy, with changes including Finn's storyline.

The latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine features an interview with Dawn McDiarmid, one of the lead designers at TT Games. He's currently working mainly on LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and it's this title that he talked a bit about in the magazine (via Games Radar).

As we already know, it will be another Star Wars game created on the license of the popular Danish bricks, but this time it will summarize all 9 movies. This means we can expect a production of considerable size, and McDiarmid confirms. The developer claims that The Skywalker Saga will feature 900 characters from the Star Warsuniverse . 300 of them are fully playable.

One of the characters we'll be able to control is Babu Frik, the lovable alien who won the hearts of audiences around the world in Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker. No wonder that the creators advertise the presence of this character, as it became the main reason why gadgets from the ninth part of Star Wars sold so well.

As far as game mechanics are concerned, we know, more or less, what to expect from a LEGO title. McDiarmid suggests, however, that we should prepare ourselves for some variety in terms of gameplay. The quest system is said to have been expanded, thanks to which we'll be able to follow quests on the fly and even work on several of them at once. We can also expect different character progression, as well as improved combat model, taking into account the approximate aiming with ranged weapons.

What's interesting, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga may surprise usstory-wise. Usually the story in games from this series simplified and accompanied by many jokes. It's likely to be the same this time around, but McDiarmid hints that the storylines of the latest trilogy may be slightly changed. He thinks, among other things, that the character of Finn could have been led much better in the films, which is why the writers from TT Games are trying to improve his story a bit.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will launch this spring. The title is to be released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
