MechWarrior 5 - Hero Mech Locations

Are you looking for hero mechs in MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries? Here you will find out where to find them.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is a sci-fi mech combat simulator. The game gives us a choice of a wide range of machines we can pilot. Among them are a few uniques referred to as hero mechs. Below you will learn where to find them.

MechWarrior 5 - where to find hero mechs?

The search for hero mechs relies heavily on luck. This is because there are no fixed locations where they spawn, other that it being industrial hubs. You are therefore doomed to search on your own. Of course, the game gives you clues as to where you can find such a machine.

Locating a hero mech requires you to go to a planet that is part of an industrial hub. You will recognize it by the fact that it is connected by dotted lines to neighboring celestial bodies. If a system has a skull above it (like in the graphic below), it means that a hero mech is available for purchase.

The task is made easier for those who have purchased the The Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC. This is because it gives access to 7 quests in which the rewards are hero mechs. These machines in most cases will not be fully operational.

The list of quests (contracts) and the hero mechs you will receive for them is as follows:

  1. Crimson Crusade - DRG-SDW Sidewinder (damaged).
  2. The Conspirators - RFL-DNA Diana (damaged).
  3. Bow and Arrow - ARC-AGC Agincourt
  4. Hazing of the Weak - ON1-YAJ Yad al-Jauza (damaged)
  5. Bring Her Home - VTR-BSK Basilisk (damaged).
  6. X Marks the Spot - COR-PVT Privateer (damaged)
  7. Stop the Launch - KGC-CAR Carapace (damaged)

MechWarrior 5 - what are hero mechs?

The term hero mechs covers unique variants of commonly available machines. According to the lore of MechWarrior 5, they were piloted by famous individuals. They are distinguished by a special paint job and unique arrangement of weapon slots and other equipment. This enables you to better arrange your weapons and thus increase your combat capabilities.
